We make authentic melktert, beskuit (buttermilk, mosbolletjie and brown rusks), malva pudding, banana bread and roosterkoek, by hand, with a South African heart. Suikerbekkie Keuken began with a simple wish: to share the tastes of home. Elrinda bakes the South African treats she grew up with, melktert, beskuit and malva pudding, from family recipes passed down through generations, now made fresh in Assen.
Everything is made by hand and with care, in small batches. Whether you're a South African missing home or someone discovering these flavours for the first time, you'll taste a piece of the Cape, with a Dutch thread that has travelled along for 400 years.
We deliver in and around Assen, including Rolde, Vries, Beilen, Smilde, Norg, Roden, Gieten, Hooghalen and Groningen. Further afield? Just ask about the options via WhatsApp. Our delivery times match our opening hours. In Assen delivery is free from €40 (below that €4,95); beyond Assen we only charge the kilometres above the first 10 (€0,85/km), plus €4,95 for orders under €40. Minimum order €15.
